Indian Mound, Tenn.–The Stewart Co. Sheriff’s Office has released a photo of the car involved in today’s fatal shooting at an Indian Mound residence. The photo is posted on our website and both of our Facebook pages.

Indian Mound, Tenn.—Stewart Co. law enforcement is searching for the suspect in a fatal shooting at an Indian Mound home earlier today.
According to Stewart Co. authorities, two people were returning home to a residence on Rorie Hollow Road and interrupted a burglary in progress. Both of the people were shot, with one passing away at the scene. The second victim has been transported to an area hospital.
Paulette Redman, Public Information Officer for the Stewart Co. Sheriff’s Office said the suspect then set their house on fire before fleeing the scene.
Redman said they are not releasing the names of the victims.
Authorities are searching for a suspect described as a white man, 5’6” to 5’7” tall with thinning hair. Police are on the lookout for a 2005 black Chrysler 300 with Tennessee tag 477-MBC.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation also was called to the scene.
