Friends Of Wildlife Refuge Photo Contest Accepting Entries

The Friends of Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge (Friends) will be hosting their fifth annual Photography Contest.  The contest is sponsored by the Friends, Dr. Danny Kimberlin and Dr. Gene Gulish to help raise awareness of the scenic beauty within the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge and the many photo opportunities that it offers.  Although there is no entry fee this year, donations are requested. Proceeds from any donations received from the entrants will be used by the Friends to assist with funding of projects and activities that take place on the refuge, such as trail projects, Discovery Series events and providing funding for field trip transportation to the refuge.  Last year the Friends provided transportation for 3,600 field trip school children to visit the refuge Visitor Center cost free.
All entries must be digital and will be accepted through October 10, until 4PM and can be hand delivered or mailed to the Visitor’s Center, located at 1371 Wildlife Dr., Springville, TN  38256. The digital files can also be emailed to refugereflections@gmail.com .   Winners will be announced at a reception to be held at the Visitor’s Center on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 at 2 pm.
There will be no entry fee but any donations will be accepted.  There will be an adult category and a youth category for photographers under 18.  Cash prizes paid out are $50  for 1st Place  in each category and $100 for Best of Show.
