Paris Man Arrested After Hospital Incident

Paris, Tenn.—A Paris man was arrested following an incident at Henry Co. Medical Center Friday afternoon which caused the facility to be placed on lockdown for a period of time.

Roger Ciarrocchi, age 61, of Harvey Bowden Rd., was arrested last night after a warrant had been issued for his arrest by the Paris Police Department. Bond of $50,000 was set and he was released after being bonded out.

According to the police report, Ciarrocchi threatened to “shoot everybody” at the hospital when they could not tell him over the phone the condition of a family member.

Ciarrocchi called the emergency room to check on the family member and hospital personnel told him they could not release information on a patient over the phone due to HIPAA laws.

He said, “So, you’re telling me that (the family member) may die and there are plenty of physicians there who could talk to me, but you cannot give me the information over the phone?” According to the police report, hospital personnel told him that other family members were at the ER and he could call and ask them for the information.

At that point, according to the report, he said, “How about I just come up there and start shooting everybody” and then hung up.
