Inman Lady Bulldogs Win Patriot Classic Cross Country

Paris, Tenn.–For the third consecutive year, the Inman Middle School’s Lady Bulldogs Cross Country
Team was named champions at the eighth annual Patriot Classic Thursday evening at
McNeill Park.
The girls placed first out of five qualifying teams during the two-mile race, which consists
of a terrain of grass, dirt, and gravel. Three runners finished in the top 10, giving the girls
the winning lowest score of 42.
Sara Mathis, eighth grader, finished third with a time of 14:44 while eighth graders
Harlee Veazey and Avery Bryan finished eighth and ninth, respectively, with times of
15:15 and 15:27.
Charlotte Coulston, eighth grader, finished 12th with a time of 16:09 and seventh grader
Kylee Perry finished 17th with 16:59. Mia Arnold finished 20th with a time of 17:27.
Also running for the Lady Bulldogs were Disha Patel, Katie Grace Arnold, Pearl Davis,
Maesyn Hart, and Ella French. Sixth graders running as independents were Amelia
Northam, Ella Mathis, Sara Beth Patterson, and Marley Edwards.
Seventh grader Carter Thompson had the fastest time for the boys’ team with a 15:50,
earning the 20th finishing spot. Also running for the Bulldogs were Jacob Brown, Bennett
Cain, Grayson Garland, and Mauricio Henriquez. Matthew Parish ran as a sixth grade
independent while Paris Elementary School fifth grader Slayden Hosford finished 18th as
an independent with a time of 15:30.
The Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs will compete next at the TMSAA West Sectionals meet in
Martin as a qualifier for the state championship. The Lady Bulldogs were the 2017
TMSAA State Champions for Division A schools. This is the fifth year for cross country at
Inman Middle with Kelley Lassiter serving as head coach since the program began in
2014.
