Paris, Tenn.—Henry Co. Industrial Committee CEO David Hamilton has resigned.
Henry Co. Brent Greer told WENK/WTPR that the resignation was accepted by the county’s industrial committee at a Monday afternoon meeting.
Greer said Hamilton’s letter of resignation indicated he wants to pursue other interests. His resignation was effective on Thursday, Greer said.
“David has worked hard for us,” Greer said, “and we wish him well on his future endeavors.”
Greer said the industrial committee, with Chamber Administrative Coordinator Tara Wilson, will be performing Hamilton’s duties until a replacement is hired.
“We want to replace David by the first of the year,” he said, “and (Paris Mayor) Carlton Gerrell and I will be working on that jointly. We’ll be determining how best to advertise for the position, whether or not we’ll go through the Tennessee Economic Development Department.”
Hamilton was hired in 2013 as CEO of the Henry County Alliance, but the title changed to Industrial Committee CEO several months ago.
A native of Obion Co., Hamilton previously worked for the Obion Co. Industrial Development Corp. and the Dickson Co. Chamber.
