Paris, Tenn.–The 2018-2019 Henry County High School Fishing team will begin its second full season competing in the West Tennessee Region BASS Nation High School Trail on Sept. 15 out of Pebble Island.
Coach Kandi Ellis said, “These 14 members, nine of which are returning anglers, are excited to see what this season will bring for the team. The nine returning anglers all competed at the State Tournament last May on Old Hickory and three of those qualified to compete and represent Henry County High School at the High School National tournament this past August out of Paris Landing. “
This season’s team will fish six regular tournaments competing for points over the next few months moving into the Divisional Championship tournament in April where they will also ear points. The District Points Champions (team) will be based on the Best 5 out 7 tournaments including the district tournament. The winner of the District Points will get first transfer spot to the National Championship. This is the tournament that these young anglers all hope to reach where they can compete against the best of the best high school anglers from all over the United States and Canada.
Ellis said, “We hope to see the hometown crowd out and supporting us at some of the local tournaments. None of this would be possible without the support of our families, our teachers, our sponsors, our captains, and the community standing behind us. We, the HCHS Fishing Team, would like to say, ‘Thank you.’.”

May 3-4 State Tournament on Douglas Lake in East Tennessee
