Paris, Tenn.–Inman Middle School’s Lady Bulldogs Varsity squad took the top honors Thursday evening at the first Camden Cross Country Invitational.
The team won first place out of nine qualifying teams during the 1.5-mile meet. Four of the six varsity runners finished in the top 15, including third place finisher Sara Mathis with a time of 10:29. Harlee Veazey finished sixth in the race with a 10:53 while Charlotte Coulston finished 12th with a time of 11:08 and Avery Bryan took the 13th spot in 11:11. Also running in the varsity race were Kylee Perry and Katie Grace Arnold.
The boys’ varsity team, consisting of Carter Thompson, Bennett Cain, Jacob Brown, Grayson Garland, and Maurcio De La Henriquez also competed Thursday at Camden. Running junior varsity for the Lady Bull dogs were Maesyn Hart and Rylee Counce. The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs also recently competed in the Dresden Jamboree, with 11 of the 16 runners placing in the top 20 of their respective races for the one-mile course. This is the fifth year for the Cross Country program at Inman and the Lady Bulldogs are the reining state champions in the TMSAA Division A category.
