Sharon, Tenn.—A Sharon man was arrested on drug charges after he texted a man arrested on drug charges earlier in the week.
On Tuesday afternoon August 27th, Matthew E. King, age 32, was arrested by Investigators from the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department and charged with simple possession of schedule 2 methamphetamine, criminal attempt to possess schedule 2 methamphetamine, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Captain Randall McGowan said King sent text messages to a cell phone taken from a person arrested earlier in the week on charges of possession of meth with intent to resale indicating he wanted to purchase methamphetamine. Investigators answered the text messages and a meeting was arranged at a location in Sharon and King was found at the location.
In addition to the attempt to buy the meth King had meth in his possession when he was taken into custody.
