Connie McSwain Retires As Library Director; Reception In Her Honor Set For Friday

Paris, Tenn.—Everyone is invited to a Thank You Party for long-time W.G. Rhea Library Director Connie McSwain on Friday evening.

McSwain is retiring after 19 years as director: she is the longest-serving director of the local library.

The Friends of the Library are hosting the Thank You Party from 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, August 31 and McSwain will be honored along with all the businesses and Henry Co. residents who have supported the library over her 19 years of service.
Dr. Norma Gerrell, Chairman of the Library Board, said Connie McSwain has the heart of a servant of the people. “She has led our public library with the highest standards, tireless effort and has always kept patrons at the center of the work. Connie has dedicated her life’s work to the citizens of Paris and Henry Co.”
Gerrell said, “We have a dynamic library that is a hub of activity in reading, technology, and learning. Paris and Henry Co. have been blessed with a devoted and charismatic leader who has made the W.G. Rhea Public Library the center of her world. We will miss Connie’s leadership, light and laughter around the library. We wish her all the best as she retires.”
