Mayfield, Ky.—The Graves Co. Sheriff’s Office has issued a Golden Alert for a Graves Co. woman who is reported missing and is seeking the public’s help in finding her.
At approximately 11 am today (Saturday, August 25), the Graves County Sheriff’s Office was advised that Mrs. Bobye Copeland was missing. She was last seen at 7 am on Friday when she dropped her husband off at the Pilgrim’s Pride plant in Mayfield
When James Copeland returned home that evening, he said his wife was not home. After calling around to family and friends, Copeland made contact with the Kentucky State Police. Mrs. Copeland’s phone was traced to the area of I-57, in Illinois.
He advised that his wife has been showing possible early signs of Alzheimer’s. He said that she has family up near Chicago and she may possibly have been heading there. Family in Chicago have not heard from Mrs. Copeland yet. Mrs. Copeland sent strange text messages to a family friend on Friday, saying that she was lost. She did not respond when the friend asked her if she was okay.
Mrs. Copeland is a 60 year old female with brown eyes and brown, shoulder length hair. She is approximately 5’8″ and weighs 140lbs. She was last seen wearing a pink t-shirt with denim capri pants and flip flops. She was last seen driving a blue 2002 Dodge Caravan, with Kentucky license plate, 249ECJ.
