Obion Co. Fair Last Two Days: Pet Show, Tractor Pull, Demolition Derby And More

By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Union City, Tenn.—We’re swinging into the last two days—and nights—of the 60th Obion County Fair and there will be activities aplenty for everyone, from livestock shows to the Ken-Ten Pullers Truck and Tractor Pull to the Demolition Derby.

Saturday will be jam-packed with activities, including the traditional closing night event—the A&J Salvage Demolition Derby.

The annual Pet Show will be held at 10 a.m., with registration from 9-10 a.m. Saturday. Cash awards will be given and dogs, cats and miscellaneous pets will be accepted in a variety of categories, such as most appeal and most unusual.

The carnival, Show-Me-Safari and other activities will open earlier in the afternoon Saturday and a bicycle will be given away to a lucky kid at 3 p.m.

Also on Saturday night, the band Four on the Floor will perform at the Back Porch Stage and the Youth Musical will perform one last time.

At Thursday night’s festivities, Austin Collins of Union City won the $1,000 Nightly Drawing, with James Rhamy of Union City winning the Pick Tennessee basket. The Rhamy’s have been lucky this year, with his wife winning the $1,000 drawing earlier in the week.
