Paris, Tenn.–During a Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, Executive Director Travis McLeese announced that the Tennessee Department of Tourism has awarded the organization a $10,000 grant to be used for tourism marketing.
The grant application included video creation, content development and subsidy for the Tennessee Vacation Guide advertising. In June of 2018, the Chamber released a two-minute general tourism video that has now has been viewed over 80,000 times and has reached over 125,000 people. These funds will allow more videos to be created focusing on our shopping opportunities, the restaurants we offer, the vibrant downtown Paris, the parks and recreation opportunities and our music and culture.
Content will be developed for a shopping and eating guide as well as sample itineraries that will stimulate ideas and develop better relationships with our guests to the community.
“These funds are vital to the marketing effort being put forth for our tourism industry and connecting our guests with opportunities to Experience Paris,” McLeese said. “We are ready to start these projects and see the impact it will have on bringing people to our community.”
The Tennessee Department of Tourism received 92 grant requests totaling $1,448,000, with only $1,000,000 available to distribute.
Last year, the group received $3,500.
