Calloway Co. Judge-Executive Larry Elkins Announces Pending Retirement

Murray, Ky.—Calloway County Judge-Executive Larry Elkins has announced his official retirement date of September 30.
Elkins is running for the 5th District State Representative seat vacated by Kenny Imes and will be focusing on that campaign.
Elkins said in a statement, “If I work past that date (September 30) and am elected state representative, I will not qualify for the retirement benefits under the current system rules.
“It has been a tremendous honor to serve as Judge-Executive. The position has allowed me to meet many wonderful people both locally and across the state. Calloway County is recognized in the region as an economic, social and educational leader. I am proud to be a part of our success.
“I will miss the job but I’m looking forward to another chapter of my life.”
