McKenzie, Tenn.—Bethel University is mourning the loss of its Chief of Security James A. Harris, who died suddenly.
Called “Chief” by most everyone on campus, he was a popular figure.
In a message to Bethel students and faculty, University President Walter Butler said:
“I am saddened to announce that we have lost a dear friend. Our Chief of Security, James A. Harris, passed away suddenly. At this point it is hard to believe or describe.
Chief Harris loved Bethel University and worked tirelessly for Bethel and the student body. He was a Christian, He was a friend to all of us.
Please pray for his family during this. I just left them. As you would expect, they are in shock.
God Bless You and the Harris Family.”
