Paris, Tenn.–Timothy Michael Crabtree of Springville has been charged by Sgt. Blake Jenkins of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office with Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Theft of Property and Public Intoxication after he beat a local store owner.
Monday night at around 8pm Crabtree went to the Country Junction store after hours. He was met at the door by the owner who told him they were closed. Crabtree then forced his way in the store and began to beat the owner causing serious bodily injuries.
After the beating Crabtree walked over to the cooler and stole a 2 5 oz beer. When deputies arrived Crabtree was still on the scene. They were able to take him into custody. His bond was set at $40,000.
The victim is currently in Vanderbilt Hospital receiving medical treatment for his injuries.
Crabtree is 34 years old and lives on Gismal Street in Springville.
Sheriff Monte Belew said, “Mr. Crabtree was recently released from the Tennessee dept. of corrections after serving approximately 10 years on a voluntary manslaughter conviction from 2007 here in Henry County.”
Sheriff Belew also reminded “all of the citizens of Henry County that you are your own first line of defense until law enforcement can arrive on scene during any type of situation.”
