Clarksville, Tenn.—A Fort Campbell soldier has been killed in a helicopter crash in Iraq.
The U.S. Department of Defense announced that Chief Warrant Officer 3 Taylor J. Galvin of Spokane, Washington, died in Baghdad Tuesday from injuries sustained in the crash.
His helicopter went down in Sinjar near the Syrian border. The crash is under investigation.
Galvin was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 160th Special Ops Aviation Regiment from Fort Campbell.
