Three Transported To UC Hospital In Two Accidents

 
 
Union City, Tenn.—Three persons were transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City as a result of two separate traffic accidents over the weekend.
 
The first collision occurred around 6:45 p.m. Friday on West Reelfoot Ave. with a car driven by Hec Rice, age 40, of Hickman, colliding with a motorcycle driven by William Cross, age 27, of Dyersburg.
 
According to the Union City Police, both the car and motorcycle were eastbound on West Reelfoot when Rice attempted to merge into the outside lane and did not see the motorcycle in his path.
 
Both the driver of the motorcycle and his passenger, Sarah Price, age 20, also of Dyersburg, were transported to Baptist Memorial emergency room. Both were wearing helmets.
 
In the other collision, Jyrese Thompson, age 18, of Union City, was injured and cited by police for lack of due care following the accident Sunday evening on S. Fifth St.
 
According to the report, Thompson was southbound on S. Fifth St. and looked down at her wallet and collided with an electric pole. She was transported to Baptist Memorial and her vehicle suffered significant damage.
