Paris, Tenn.-The Paris Police Department has released more information on the shooting which occurred at Crestview Manor Apartments early this morning.
In a press release issued this evening, Captain Ricky Watson said around 1 a.m., officers responded to the apartment complex on a shots fired call.
Upon arrival, officers located four bullet casings, but no suspects or victims. “About the same time, a subject showed up to the Henry County Medical Center emergency room with multiple gunshot wounds,” Watson said. In speaking with WENK/WTPR earlier Saturday morning, Watson said the victim was shot multiple times in the area below the waist. The victim was treated and released from the emergency room.
The victim is a 43 year old male from West Memphis, Ark. He told officers he and his fiancé were in Paris for a wedding and were staying with friends at Crestview and were going to the apartment when they encountered a black male sitting on the steps along with two black females and a white female.
Watson said the victim told officers words were exchanged between he and the suspect, who then pulled out a gun and shot the victim.
After being shot at least four times, the victim was able to make it to his car, which also sustained a gunshot. Victim was taken to HCMC and the suspect ran into one of the apartments.
Watson said the suspect was last seen running around the Number 4 building.
The suspect is described as a black male, short hair, wearing a red shirt and is yet to be identified positively. Watson said, “A possible suspect is being searched for questioning.”
Meanwhile, multiple charges are pending on multiple people and the Police Department is asking that any witnesses please contact the PPD at 642 2424 or Watson at 641 1478.
