Danville, Tenn.—The TWRA has announced that the body of the boater missing since Sunday night has been recovered from Kentucky Lake.
The body of Randy Looney, age 49, of White Bluff, was found this morning, according to TWRA spokesperson Amy Snider-Spencer.
In a press released issued by the TWRA before the body was recovered this morning, more details on the boating accident were reported.
Officers say around 7:30 p.m., a 1992 26-foot Rinker cabin boat operated by Winter Kent Thompson, 34, of Cumberland Furnace, was traveling upstream around mile marker 82 on Kentucky Lake when it struck an unknown object.
The vessel took a hard left ejecting three occupants.
Occupants onboard were the driver, Winter Kent Thompson; Alexandria L. Goldman, 27, of Dickson; Amy Christine Jenkins, 28, of White Bluff; Samuel Travis Moore, 21, of Dickson; Carrie Nicole Thompson, 29 of Waverly; Cassandra Marie Williams, 27, of Dickson; and James Randall Looney, 49, of White Bluff.
Three occupants were ejected from the boat. Alexandria L. Goldman suffered a non-critical injury, and 49-year old James Randall Looney of White Bluff was killed in the boating accident.
None of the occupants were wearing life jackets.
Multiple agencies took part in the search, which was concentrated around the Danville Landing area near the Benton-Houston Co. border.
