Paris, Tenn.—It was a busy – and profitable –night at the 2018 Henry County Fair for the annual Country Ham Sale. A total $38,340 was netted during the auction, higher than the 2017 total of $26,250.
The commercial building at the fairgrounds was crowded with proud parents and grandparents watching their kids at one of the most popular events of the fair each year.
Overall Grand Champion Samuel Bruce, son of Brandon and Jenny Bruce, $1,150, Farm Bureau. Overall Reserve Griffin Gordon, son of Danny and SuzAnne Gordon, $450 by Waler Flowers. High Reserve Champion McKinley Snow, $450, Lakeway IGA. High Reserve Champion, Jaden Kibbler, son of David and Denay Kibbler, $350, Scott and Carol Berryman. Junior Champ Allie Paschall, daughter of Alan and Amanda Paschall, $500 by Ronnie Bates; Junior Reserve Champ Eva Lemonds, daughter of Jeremy and Andrea Lemonds, $450, Carol and Scott Berryman.
Emma Grace Dotson’s cured ham brought the highest price at the auction–$1,125, bought by her grandparents Deneicia and Larry Gregson. Emma Grace is the daughter of Angie and Jason Dotson.

Marly Latta’s cured ham, bought by her grandparents Jerry and Janet Bomar. Marly is the daughter of Todd and Tiffany Latta.
Hunter Goodman’s ham, which was bought by The Goodmans. He is the son of Ranson and Karen Goodman.
Chloe McElroy, daughter of John and Gracian McElroy, $875, bought by Pot of Gold; Christine Martin’s ham was bought for $800, bought by Indoor Comfort; Lee Hayes, son of Matt and Stacey Hayes, $750, Hayes Construction; Emma brewer, daughter of Joe and Christine Brewer, $800, Gerald’s Garage Doors; John Thomas Atkins, $775, Leon and Shirley Rogers; Emma Kate Atkins, $750, bought by Security Bank.
