Henry County 2018 Junior Livestock Auction Brings In $160,000

Paris, Tenn.—It was a busy night at the Livestock Barn at the Henry County Fairgrounds, as the 2018 Junior Market Livestock Sale and Auction brought in some $160,000, which fair organizers said is $8,000 higher than last year.
Thanks to the two rains during the day, it was a lot cooler inside the livestock barn than it has been in previous years.
A total of 33 steer were sold, with 48 hogs, eight goats and 12 lambs.
Bidding was fast and furious, with Jackie Hamilton again serving as emcee and auctioneer for the evening.

The Grand Champion and Grand Champion Bred and Born steer raised by Murray Perkins brought in the highest price at $4.40 per pound from Paris Natural Gas. Perkins’ steer weighed 1,250 pounds, bringing the total to $5,500.
