“Meet Your Teacher” Night at UC Elementary Pre-K Draws Crowd

Union City,–A third Pre-K classroom has been added to the program and both school staff and parents are excited about the opportunity to serve more children in the local community, according to UC school administration and faculty.

Over 50 Pre-K students and families began the night in the UCES library for a brief overview of the Pre-K program, as well as new safety and transportation polices.

The families socialized in the beautiful UCES courtyard and were invited to have family photos made to decorate the Pre-K classrooms.

Families also scheduled home visits that will allow teachers, parents and students to begin building yearlong relationships.

The school’s Pre-K staff understands that families are the child’s first teachers and, as such, home is the first classroom. Beginning the first year of school with a merger of school and home allows for smoother transition for the child and families.

Parents later were given the opportunity to tour the Pre-K classrooms and socialize with other parents to further build our school community.
