MCKENZIE, TN – Bethel University’s Center for Academic Student Achievement has been nationally recognized for its website design and functionality.
Co-sponsored by the National College Learning Center Association (NCLCA ) and Learning Support Centers in Higher Education (LSCHE), Bethel University-Center for Academic Student Achievement took third place in the national website competition.
Originally known as the Tutoring Center, Bethel’s Center for Academic Student Achievement was renamed in 2016. Its mission is to provide an opportunity for students to grow intellectually in a positive and caring environment. All Bethel University students are eligible to receive free academic services through CASA, and students of all learning levels can improve their abilities through the Study Center, Tutoring Center, and Writing Center. CASA also works with the Bethel University Library to provide Skill Stops for students to enhance their study skills. The Center for Academic Student Achievement is located in the basement of the Burroughs Learning Center on the main campus in McKenzie, TN. CASA’s website is www.bethelu.edu/CASA.
CASA Director Sarah Sanders is honored by the center’s recognition for website excellence.
“The requirements for this award were highly detailed, and included requisites such as meeting criteria for accessibility, innovation, creative content, and more,” Sanders said. “Previous winners of the award include Clemson University Academic Success Center and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville Student Success Center, so we are in good company. In fact, most institutions who receive this award are considerably larger than Bethel, so I feel very blessed that CASA was chosen for this exceptional recognition.”
Bethel University and other winning schools will receive an engraved plaque during an award luncheon on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the National College Learning Center Association Annual Conference in Niagara Falls, NY.
