Dyersburg, Tenn.—The owner of a small rural grocery store near Dyersburg was wounded during an armed robbery today, but not before he shot one of the suspects multiple times.
The suspect, Joshua Lee Foster, age 31, of Dyersburg, is in critical condition at Region One in Memphis. He was airlifted following the robbery.
Allen T. McNeely, owner of Allen’s Grocery, was wounded by the armed robbers. According to Dyersburg Police, his condition is non-critical. He was first transported to West Tennessee Health Care and then transferred to another facility after treatment.
A second suspect is being sought in the robbery. He is described as a black male, slender build and was last seen running from the store.
The second suspect is not believed to be in the Dyersburg area at this time based on investigative leads. The suspects involved in this matter will be charged with Especially Aggravated Robbery. Missouri authorities were also seeking Foster for an active probation violation warrant.
