Paris, Tenn.—Paris Second Grader Eli Palmer received a special invitation that very few people receive in their lifetimes.
Eli has been invited by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and First Lady Crissy Haslam to a Kids’ State Dinner at the Governor’s Mansion in celebration of him being named one of Tennessee’s Top 100 Readers. Eli is the son of Bob and Allyson Palmer.
The state dinner will be held August 12 and his mother will be accompanying him. Allyson Palmer is the Pre-Kindergarten Director at Rhea School.
Paris Special Schools Director Dr. Norma Gerrell announced the honor at Tuesday night’s meeting and she and Rhea Principal Chris Hudgins congratulated him. Eli read 2,020 minutes over the summer.
“We’re so excited to have one of our students go to the Governor’s Mansion,” Dr. Gerrell told Eli at the meeting.
