Camden, Tenn.—A 90-year-old Camden man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Thursday on the Hwy. 70 bypass in Benton County.
Louis Kee was trapped in his vehicle and was extricated by the Benton County Rescue Squad and EMS units. Kee was transported to the Camden General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to a press release from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 5 p.m. A 1999 Chevy pickup driven by Kee was stopped facing eastbound at the four-way stop near the Natchez Trace divider when a 2006 GMC Sierra pulling a race car hauler trailer headed westbound struck Kee’s truck.
The race car trailer was driven by James Carley, age 52, with passenger James Carley Jr., age 21, both of Cunningham, Tenn.
Both Carley and Carley Jr. were treated and released at the scene by EMS.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol worked the fatality with assistance from the Benton Co. Sheriff’s Office, Benton Co. Rescue Squad, EMS, and Morris Chapel Fire Department.
