Paris, Tenn. – The 9th Annual Ice Cream Social & Antique Car & Tractor Show will fill historic downtown Paris this Saturday, July 28th, from 4– 6:30 pm. Sponsored by the Downtown Paris Association (DPA), the event benefits the Downtown Paris Association and the Historic Atkins Porter Neighborhood Association.
“This has become an end-of-summer tradition that folks of all ages look forward to,” said DPA Executive Director Kathy Ray. “Everyone with an event wristband can enjoy free ice cream from each booth, a “Kidszone” area with fun activities with face painting, and crazy contests; it’s definitely the coolest fundraiser around, no pun intended.”
Wristbands are available for a minimum donation of $10 for adults or $5 for children 12 and under. They can be purchased from the DPA, the Historic Atkins Porter Neighborhood Association, ice cream booth partners, and at the event.
The Antique Car Show brings vehicles in from four states and there will be 80 to 90 classic cars, according to Chairperson Vicky Muzzall. Registration is a minimum donation of $10 which includes an event wristband. “Votes (25 cent donations) are tallied throughout the event,” said Muzzall. “At 6:30 pm the car and tractor with the most votes will each win a Peoples’ Choice Award Trophy. The Antique Tractor Show is relatively new to the event. Last year brought out several tractors and we hope to showcase more this year. Registration process is the same as the Car Show.
