By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Paris, Tenn.—A trio of would-be burglars were apparently caught in the act of burglarizing the old Buchanan School and were arrested on various charges.
Arrested were Jarrid Sterling, age 32, of Hollow Rock; Edward Ellis, age 40, of Camden; and Jamie Trinkle of Dover. All three were charged with burglary, with Trinkle being charged also with evading arrest.
According to the report, deputies responded to a call of a burglary in progress and found two trucks parked beside the building. Deputies entered the building and first encountered Sterling, who was immediately detailed.
Sgt. Terry Williams and his K9 Droid found Ellis, who surrendered. Trinkle ran from the building into heavy brush and was apprehended by Droid. A fourth person was found on the floor of one of the trucks passed out and was taken to Henry County Medical Center.
Charges have not as yet been filed against the fourth suspect as the investigation continues. Bond was set for all three at $2,500 each.
The Buchanan School has been shut down for years.
