Car Strikes Pole, Causing Power Outage In Union City

 
 
Union City, Tenn.—A car wreck late last night caused an outage to some customers of the Union City Energy Authority.
 
Authority Director Jerry Bailey said this morning the outage occurred in the areas of Reelfoot Ave. and Pleasant Valley around 9:45 p.m. after a car hit a power pole.
 
The accident resulted in some 600 customers without power with the majority being restored in about 30 minutes, Bailey said. The remaining 70 customers had their power restored about 11:30 p.m.
 
The Authority regrets inconvenience to its customers, he said.
 
A police report on the accident was not available today from the Union City Police Department.
