Fulton, Ky.—With the passing of Fulton County Sheriff Robby Woods last week, Chief Deputy Derrick Goodson has now been sworn in as Sheriff. Goodson was sworn in by First District Circuit Judge Tim Langford during a ceremony Saturday night at the Fulton County Office Building.
Goodson also has been chosen by the Fulton County Democratic Party to appear on the November ballot for the office of sheriff.
The late Sheriff Woods had won the May Democratic primary and was in the midst of his campaign for his first full term when he passed away.
Funeral services for Woods were held Saturday afternoon in Union City.
