Paris, Tenn. – Bethel University’s Spring 2018 graduates from its Physician Assistant Studies Program have achieved a 98 percent pass rate on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination, the licensing examination for PA’s. The pass rate is based on the number of graduates who pass the examination on their first try. Of Bethel’s 50 May 2018 graduates, 49 achieved passing on their first try.
The Bethel Physician Assistant Program is located at the Paris campus on Tyson Ave.
“The five-year national average for first time takers is 96 percent,” said Kerri Smith, Interim PA Program Director. “With last year’s 100 percent pass rate and this year’s rate, I feel that our maintaining continued pass rates that are above the national average is certainly testament to the quality of Bethel’s program and the level to which we commit to produce physician assistant graduates who are fully prepared to take their licensing examinations and to serve the healthcare industry as PA’s.”
“This is very meaningful to students currently in our program as well as to those who are considering Bethel University for their preparation as a physician assistant,” said Bethel President Walter Butler. “They can feel very confident that they are part of a comprehensive primary care training program that fully prepares them to be an effective physician assistant.”
The Bethel University Physician Assistant Program confers a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies upon completion of the 27 month educational program. Bethel’s program consists of 12 months of didactic education and 15 months of clinical experiences.
