Louisville, Tenn.—Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear has announced he is running the governor, seeking the Democratic nomination in 2019.
Beshear, 40, is the son of former Governor Steve Beshear.
Beshear’s running mate will be Jacqueline Coleman, an educator who currently is assistant principal at Nelson County High School. Beshear made the announcement with Coleman in Louisville this morning.
He is the first candidate to announce for the governor position.
