Atlanta, Ga.—Henry County High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members Nicole Long, Morgan Luker, and Madison Stone, along with their adviser Janet Pearce, recently attended the 2018 FCCLA National Leadership Conference (NLC) in Atlanta, GA from June 28th– July 2nd.
NLC is a student leadership conference with an attendance of over 8,000 middle school and high school students and their Family and Consumer Sciences educators. Over 4,500 of these attendees demonstrated their proficiency and achievement in career preparation projects and leadership skills.
Nicole and Morgan completed in the Chapter in Review Display event while at NLC. This event allowed our members to use their Family and Consumer Science related occupational skills to develop a display board and oral presentation to raise awareness and educate the school, parents, and members of the community about the importance of FCCLA and Family and Consumer Sciences education. Nicole and Morgan received a silver award in this event.
Any student at Grove or Henry County High School that is enrolled in a Family and Consumer Sciences class is eligible to join FCCLA!
