Dresden, Tenn.—Bowlin Funeral Home President James “Jimmy” Bowlin Dilday, age 84, of Dresden died on Saturday in Dresden. Funeral arrangements will be held on Thursday, July 5th at Dresden First Baptist Church beginning at 10 AM with burial to follow in Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 4th at Dresden First Baptist Church from 3 PM until 7 PM All visitation will be held at Dresden First Baptist Church.
James “Jimmy” Bowlin Dilday was born on July 8, 1933 to the late Hubert and Annie Lynn Bowlin Dilday in Dresden, he was the owner of Bowlin Funeral Home, he graduated from Dresden High School in 1952, he was a United States Army Veteran, he was a former President of Tennessee Funeral Director Board, member of Dresden Rotary Club for 60 yrs, member of American Legion Post 94, Charter Member of Dresden Elks Lodge, and a member of the Dresden First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; Edith Crawford Dilday, his son; David (Christy) Dilday, his daughter; Maianne (Eric) Horne of Cyrstal Lake, IL. his granddaughter; Paige (Dillon) Brann, his 2 great grandchildren; Dawson and Dane Brann all of Gallatin, TN, 2 step grandaughters: Colleen Home and Megan Home Andrews. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Charles and Joe Hoyt Dilday, and his sister; Lucy Truitt. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Dresden First Baptist Church Building Fund.
