Fulton, Ky.—The public is invited to a community prayer service to be held for Fulton County Sheriff Robby Woods and his family next week.
Woods suffered a stroke this week and is recovering from surgery.
The Fulton County Emergency Management Service announced on its Facebook page yesterday that the community prayer will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at the Fulton County Office Building on Myron Cory Drive in Hickman.
Woods was first taken to a Paducah hospital and then transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center by ambulance.
Chief Deputy Derek Goodson is acting sheriff until Woods is fully recovered. The Kentucky State Police, along with the Graves and Calloway Co. sheriff’s departments also have been assisting the department.
