Union City, Tenn.—Incoming Obion County Director of Schools Dr. Leah Watkins will begin her new job Monday, July 9.
Dr. Watkins has been Director of Schools for the Roane County system for the past two years and prior to that, she was an administrator and teacher at the Paris Special Schools District.
She told WENK/WTPR that she is excited to begin the new job and excited to be moving back to the area.
She will be meeting with Union City and Obion County government officials and local schools personnel. She also plans to attend the next Obion County Commission meeting July 16.
Dr. Watkins is replacing Russ Davis, who announced in May he was resigning.
