Blues Landing Heavily Damaged By Early Morning Fire

Buchanan, Tenn.—The Blues Landing seafood restaurant in Buchanan sustained heavy damage due to an early morning fire today.

The Paris Landing Fire Department was called to 130 Tate Drive around 2 a.m. after a passing Henry Co. Sheriff’s deputy reported smoke.

Paris Landing Fire Chief Reggie Coles said it was initially thought the smoke coming from a mobile home directly behind Blues Landing, but arriving units found the rear of the restaurant was on fire. Coles said a storage building and a vehicle parked near the building also were ablaze.

Owner Mark Berg told firefighters everything was o.k. at 11:30 p.m. and he was awakened by deputies about the fire.

Coles said the building suffered heavy fire, smoke and water damage that is estimated at $50,000. Cause of the fire is under investigation.

Paris Landing units were on the scene for some three hours, with six trucks and 12 firefighters. Mutual aid was provided by the Paris and Puryear Fire Departments.
