Paris, Tenn.—A Paris woman has been arrested on arson charges by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office involving a series of structure fires which began in February 2017.
Charity Ferguson, age 25, of 103 Hidden Acres, is being held in the Henry County Jail on four counts of arson, a Class C felony.
She was arrested along with Brant Freeland, age 26, of the same address. Freeland was charged with one count of arson and was released later on his own recognizance.
Henry Co. Sheriff Monte Belew told WENK/WTPR Saturday that in the course of the investigation, Ferguson “confessed and accepted full responsibility” for the fires and that the charge against Freeland likely will be dismissed Tuesday.
Belew said the investigation was conducted by State Bomb and Arson and Sheriff’s Investigator Gary Vandiver. He said, “The case is ongoing and additional charges probably will be forthcoming.”
According to the investigation, Ferguson set four separate fires in structures in which she was living, with the first fire in February 2017 and the most recent fire in June of 2018.
