Jackson, Tenn.—Cherie Hale of LIFELINE Blood Services has issued an urgent plea for O negative and A negative blood.
Hale said, “As of Thursday, we have no O negative or A negative blood on the shelves to send to our hospitals. We need about 40 donors to show up with these types to donate. This is a big deal and it is going to take a lot of help.”
“As you probably know, there just aren’t that many people with these blood types and we can’t stress enough how important these two blood types are,” she said. “Please, please donate today if possible. If you can’t make it today, then would you please come tomorrow or Saturday morning? We are open today and tomorrow 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m to 1 p.m.”
You can donate at the Jackson LIFELINE office at 183 Sterling Farms Dr.
Local drives include the Battle of the Badges in Martin, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 22 at Simmons Bank in Martin; or at Health Quest in Union City on June 25, from 1-7 p.m.
