Paris, Tenn.—Paris FFA Advisor Laura Moss and Henry County Extension Agent Ransom Goodman load up on produce from Future Visions Farms of Whitlock at Friday’s Henry County Farmers Market grand opening at the fairgrounds. A huge crowd was on hand for the opening and ribbon-cutting and Farmers Market Chairman Chad Kennedy said, “It was just great.” He told everyone at the opening, “We want to be one of the biggest farmers markets around here.” Several vendors were there, with a wide variety of goods for sale—from produce to raw honey to homemade pretzels and fried pies. In other photos, Extension Director Michele Atkins and Health Department employee Nancy Melton give samples and freebies to Fred Reed; the Shrock Family of Sunny Acres Produce in McKenzie with their large selection of goods. Hours are 3-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays and 8-11 a.m. Saturdays. Shannon McFarlin photos.
