Union City, Tenn.—A Jackson man is in the Obion County Jail today on charges of aggravated assault after threatening employees of a Union City business with a screwdriver.
Stevie Henson, age 60, was arrested by Union City Police around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at Premier Furniture at 1702 W. Reelfoot Ave.
Henson was apprehended and the 12 inch screwdriver he was wielding was seized. Henson told police he was upset with two of the store’s managers over a bill.
Employees said Henson became irate and threatened them with the screwdriver and that they both were in fear for their safety. A witness also said Henson became angry and stabbed a mattress on display. The witness ran out of the store and police spoke with him later.
