Union City Driver Cited After Accident

 
 
Union City, Tenn.—A Union City driver was cited for failure to yield and a passenger in the other vehicle was transported to the hospital following an accident in Union City Friday.
 
Marilyn Bing, age 65, of Union City, was cited after the accident which occurred Friday morning on Everett Blvd. According to the police report, Bing was driving a Ford Explorer eastbound on Mt. Zion Rd. attempting to cross over Everett Blvd. She failed to see a pickup truck driven by Duane Vlasak, age 75, of Hornbeak, who was northbound on Everett.
 
The front of Bing’s SUV crashed into Vlasak’s driver’s side, causing major damage to both vehicles. One of Vlasak’s passengers, Virginia Valasak, age 77, was not injured, but another passenger, Melissa Jackson, age 51 of Myrtle Beach, S.C., sustained a laceration to her arm and was transported by EMS to Baptist Memorial Hospital.
