Campbell County, Tenn.–At around 10 a.m. today, two children—six and eight years old—and a 16-year-old were struck by a boat near the White Bridge Access area on Norris Lake in Campbell Co.
The 16-year-old has been airlifted to UT Medical Center and the other two have been taken to Lafollette Medical Center. TWRA officers say that they fell off an inner tube that was being towed by a boat.
According to TWRA, as the boat operator was making a turn, the four kids on the inner tube realized they were about to be hit causing two of them to jump off. A 16-year-old girl who jumped from the tube was struck while in the water and the other one who jumped off was not injured. The other two were hit while still on the tube.
TWRA officers said all the victims and the party involved were visiting from Ohio.
