Paris, Tenn.—Friday is the big night—the annual Henry County Relay for Life event which will feature plenty of activities, good food, good fellowship, but will especially feature a good cause.
This year’s Relay Public Relations Chair Dana Allen has released the schedule of events for the evening and the list of teams and what food each will be serving.
WENK/WTPR is a sponsor of this year’s Relay and will be broadcasting live from the event, which is held at the Henry County Fairgrounds from 6-midnight. Gates open at 4 p.m. and survivors can begin registering then. The silent auction begins at 5 p.m. The Lifeline Bloodmobile will be set up at the fairgrounds during the event.
Opening ceremonies begin at 6 p.m., which will include the survivors’ lap and the Our Hero Award will be presented. Entertainment includes Sandra and Kailey’s Dance Studio at 6:30 p.m., Mr. Purple and White and a Womanless Beauty Contest at 7; Tuffy Craig and Friends performing at 8 p.m.
The luminarias will be lit at 9, following by the remembrance ceremony a musical chair scavenger hunt and at midnight, the Closing Ceremony and Awards presentation.
Sixteen teams will have tents set up, including:
Roaming Beet Box, a new food truck which serves vegetarian and vegan fare.
Kroger, which will serve nachos, popcorn, fried oreos and have carnival games.
Fast Pace Clinic, cotton candy and water.
Bass/Lipford families will have fried oreos in a bunch of different flavors.
Ladies of SWAG will serve hot dogs and hot dogs with chilli, nachos, chilli and a variety of desserts.
First United Methodist Church will have cobblers, brownies, ice cream and water.
Team Glo will have games
World’s Biggest Fish Fry will serve jumbo hot dogs with chilli, cheese and jalapenos.
Lawnmasters will have BBQ fried pies, BBQ plates, ribs, chicken and fried oreos.
Cajun Sno-Balls will serve snowballs.
Garden of Hope will have caregiver pinwheels and torches of hope.
Plus, Henry County Medical Center will have a tent with cancer information and there will be a survivors’ tent, luminaria tent, and WENK/WTPR will have a tent with freebies.
