Paris, Tenn.—At Thursday night’s Paris City Commission meeting, Paris City Finance Director Traci Shannon reported 12 new business licenses were issued in April and the city recorded a slight dip of .05% in retail sales for the month of March compared to March of last year. Fiscal year-to-date the city is still ahead by 3.22%.
The city issued twelve business licenses in April:
New Business: Cell Ya Later, The Golden Cypress, A Place Called Home, Window Cleaning Solutions, Southern Woodworks, Turner’s Landscaping
Additional Location (Contractors): Story Electrical Service, Jordan Plumbing, Hayward Baker Inc, Saver’s Painting, Hilber’s Inc
Change in Type of Ownership: First Call Heating and Air
General Fund and Solid Waste revenues were both ahead of expenditures for the month of April and for the fiscal year-to-date. The only out of the ordinary expenses in April were for City Hall renovations (which should wrap up in the next couple of months) and a new vehicle for our K9 unit. I anticipate revenues to fall behind for the month of May due to approximately $388K in principal payments on bonded debt.
