Paris, Tenn.—A ribbon-cutting officially opened the Paris community’s newest Free Book Exchange at Grove School Thursday morning. The Book Exchange is located outside the school, near the entrance, and is always available.
The Book Exchange that is now installed at Grove School by the Paris Henry County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership program will allow community members to find free and available reading material. Chamber Director Travis McLeese said, “The idea was a result of their ‘Class Project’, where the group was challenged to develop an opportunity to give back to the community.”
People can take a book for free and leave a book or books for others to read.
Henry County Instruction Supervisor Betsy Allison is the project chair and McLeese complimented Allison and her team on a “great job with this project, and I am glad we can contribute to the literary efforts in our community.” Allison is Supervisor of Instruction for grades 9-12.
The Chamber committee chair is Sam McDaniel and McLeese said it provided a well-rounded experience for these participants.
The other Free Book Exchanges in Paris are located at the Atkins-Porter Recreation Center, the Eagle convenience store on E. Wood St., Eiffel Tower Park, and Cash Savers parking lot on W. Wood St. The A-P Neighborhood Association supervises the Free Little Library at the A-P Rec Center and the W.G. Rhea Library oversees the other three.
