Big Sandy, Tenn.—The 2018 Big Sandy Spring Festival is this weekend and it will be a big Memorial Day celebration with a wide range of activities, from the parade, tractor show, carnival, gospel singing, car show, magic and a horseshoe tournament. Not to mention, a fireworks show.
The carnival opens Friday, May 25, at 5 p.m. ($10 bracelet,unlimited rides), with LEVON featuring Ryan Holladay of Benton County, performing from 7:30-9 p.m.
Saturday, May 26, is the big day with the car show starting at 8 a.m., the parade at 10 a.m. with the theme “Down On The Farm” which goes right through town.
At the Big Sandy City Park, the tractor show is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with petting zoo and pony rides from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; the carnival starting at 11 a.m.
Randall French will perform from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with the horseshoe tournament at the Small Pavilion at noon. Gospel singing is from 1-1:30 p.m., with the Cherokee Wolf Clan presentation at 1:30 p.m.; bingo at the Small Pavilion from 2-5 p.m.; Doug the Magician from 3-4 p.m.; the Tommy Akers Band performing the Blues from 4:30-6:30 p.m.; and Nashville Country Music Artist Kinsey Rose performing from 7:15-10:30 p.m.
Memorial Day Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. Sponsors of the event are the Tennessee River Resort district and local businesses.
