Hazel, Ky.—Two women were injured in a rollover accident and one woman was entrapped in the vehicle, during a one-car accident Sunday evening on Hwy. 641. The accident occurred near 5379 Hwy. 641 between Hazel and Murray.
Calloway Co. Sheriff Sam Steger said this morning that the accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. when a 2005 Buick LeSabre, operated by 73-year-old Judy Richard of Benton, Kentucky, dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway, striking a concrete culvert causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times.
An eyewitness told WENK/WTPR that the vehicle flipped over at least seven or eight times.
The vehicle came to rest on its wheels with the rear supported by a metal mailbox. Richard had been traveling northbound on 641.
Steger said the front seat passenger, April Richard, age 45, was extricated by mechanical means by the Calloway Co. Fire and Rescue and transported to Murray-Calloway Co. Hospital by EMS.
