Paris, Tenn.—A culvert on Rowe School Road is just one of many that were washed out by Saturday night’s severe storms that hit Henry County. A portion of the road was still closed Sunday morning, as are portions of Guthrie Road and the Holly Fork Bottom.
A dispatcher at the Henry County sheriff’s office said Guthrie Road had four washed out areas from the 2300 block all the way down Guthrie to Edgar Cemetery Road. Rowe School Road washed out in two places. Foundry Hill Road was closed at the Wyninger Road intersection, under four or five feet of water. The Holly Fork Bottom on Elkhorn Road was flooded and the gates are locked at both ends.
Edgar Cemetery Rd is washed out about a mile off Shady Grove Rd. Country Club Rd. was flooded in two places. The entrance to Country Club off Hwy 79 N was flooded out for a time during and after the storm.
The sheriff’s office told motorists to use caution when driving today and avoid the washed out areas.
