About 535 of Gibson Electric Membership Corporation’s members’ homes and businesses between Newbern and Trimble are currently experiencing an outage. The outage began at 1:28 p.m. and was caused by straight-line winds. Six poles were broken and lines were downed.
Unfortunately, service restoration will be slow as the repairs are time-intensive. Members on life-support are encouraged to make alternate arrangements. Members and the public are urged to avoid the area for theirown safety and for the safety of Gibson EMC crews. Crews will restore service as quickly as possible, and we will keep you informed of progress.
Members can report an outage by calling Gibson EMC’s Outage Hotline at 1-800-977-4076. If the lines are busy, please leave a message. You can most easily report an outage using the free “Gibson EMC” app through the Apple App Store or Android Market.
